We are proud to provide our patients with the most advanced technology available in retinal screening: the Optos Optomap Retinal Exam.

This unit can take a picture of the back of the eye without the use of dilating drops. For our patients who find dilation an inconvenience or debilitating, an Optomap Retinal Exam may replace dilation. Many patients find dilation an inconvenience because of the fact that it causes trouble with near vision focus for 4 to 6 hours and increased light sensitivity. This test is very “kid friendly” because most children do not like eye drops and the Optomap does not require drops.
