The Matrix Visual Fields instrument uses a new type of technology for detecting visual field defects before traditional field testing. It can electronically measure retinal function and sensitivity to light.

Visual field testing is performed to test for and monitor many eye or neurological conditions such as glaucoma, tumors, macular degeneration, vascular disease, stroke, diabetes, etc.

It is especially important for people who:

• experience headaches/migraines
• see spots or flashes of light
• have diabetes or a family history of diabetes
• have high blood pressure or a family history of high blood pressure
• have glaucoma or a family history of glaucoma
• have retinal problems pressure or a family history of retinal problems
• have a strong eyeglasses prescription
• are over the age of 40
• are African American
